For as long as he can remember, Tom has had an interest in the human condition, but his career took him on a decidedly circuitous route before he had the calling to become an Acupuncturist. After forays into film/video PR, publishing and television, he was still left with a sense of something he was meant to do. And it took until his early thirties before, on waking one morning, he was aware of a new sense of purpose. As he says, "There was this deep knowledge in me - I just knew I was going to become an Acupuncturist."
With the full support of his wife, he graduated from the London College of Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and promptly re-enrolled to become an Oriental Herbalist. He retains close contact with the London College and has been invited back to assist with clinical teaching.
Tom always wanted to be a general practitioner with an open door for all and enjoys the wide variety of complaints and conditions this brings every day. This generalist approach has led Tom to continue his post-graduate studies in a wide variety of disciplines, here and in China: gynaecology/fertility, paediatrics, skin conditions, gastrointestinal problems, respiratory difficulties, and a wide range of miscellaneous physical and emotional complaints.
